Property Manager is on pathway to success with GJS Dillon
October 2022GJS Dillon’s Property Manager Sarah Moors is one of an all-female team of three looking after GJS Dillon’s growing portfolio of managed commercial properties in Worcestershire and the West Midlands. The team, which consists of Sarah, Emily Bullock, Associate Director of Asset Management and Finance Administrator Sophie Rollins, work closely with Landlords and Tenants. They ensure all parties are being provided with a proactive and tailored management service whilst also maximising investment returns.
A former student of Bromsgrove School, Sarah graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a Masters Degree in Real Estate. After graduation she worked in the real estate sector for 5 years, firstly as a Trainee Surveyor at a commercial property consultancy and then as a Graduate Planning and Development Surveyor working on city residential schemes.
In mid-June 2020, Sarah was made redundant as a result of the pandemic and the restrictions that followed. Keen to stay in the property sector, she sent a speculative CV to GJS Dillon who fortunately happened to be looking for a new Property Manager. She joined the team in August 2020.
GJS Dillon’s asset management portfolio has expanded over the last 3 years and includes a number of retail units, office blocks and local shopping centres. On a day-to-day basis, Sarah organises property maintenance and health and safety checks. She spends part of every week working on lease renewals and rent reviews for Landlords and Tenants.
Sarah is one of two members of the wider GJS Dillon team who are combining their roles with studying to become a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor. She is on the Real Estate pathway which outlines a range of mandatory and technical competencies to meet. At the end of the two years Sarah has to produce a summary of her experience and prove she has met standards for levels 1, 2 or 3 competencies. She hopes to qualify in Spring 2023 and take on more responsibility at GJS Dillon for tenant and landlord negotiations.
When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys GJS Dillon’s social activities such as their recent Archery Night which she says was fun as well as being really competitive!
‘I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each of the different departments and getting to know our clients and tenants.’ says Sarah ‘I also feel very lucky to have the support and training I need to become a fully qualified Surveyor.’
