GJS Dillon launches residential surveys and valuations service
September 2020Worcestershire commercial property consultancy GJS Dillon is launching a new surveys and valuations service for homebuyers in Worcestershire, Herefordshire Shropshire and the wider West Midlands area with effect from today.
The announcement coincides with a surge of activity in the residential property market as a result of the Government’s stamp duty cut on purchases up to £500,000, effective until 31 March 2021. GJS Dillon’s residential services include RICS Home Surveys Levels 1 to 3 and valuations for purchase, matrimonial, reinsurance and probate purposes.
Jonathan Mountford MRICS, a qualified Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer with over 25 years’ experience, is heading up the venture.
Mr Mountford says ‘Buying a house is one of the biggest purchases most people will make in their lifetime and it can turn into a costly mistake. Over the years I’ve carried out surveys on houses that have had all kinds of structural problems. In some instances, if the buyer had gone ahead and purchased without my advice, it would have cost them thousands of pounds in repairs. It’s essential that buyers can act with confidence’
John Dillon, GJS Dillon’s Managing Director says ‘Jonathan’s reputation for accuracy when it comes to surveys is legendary. A survey gives the buyer the opportunity to negotiate on the purchase price or even withdraw their offer all together which is exactly what happened to a client only last week. This can happen fairly frequently with listed properties which is one of Jonathan’s particular areas of expertise.’
Brad Faulks, an experienced Chartered Surveyor with 15 years’ experience, will continue to carry out the commercial valuations for new and existing clients within the region, with a particular focus on industrial, office and retail property.
