Karen’s knitathon is a stitch in time for Midlands Air Ambulance
April 2024GJS Dillon’s fundraiser for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) has received a welcome donation thanks to a talented team member. Practice Manager Karen Coles is a keen knitter and produced 40 sets of beautifully knitted baby clothes to raise money for the lifesaving charity.
Wiktoria Jaworska, MAAC’s Corporate Partnership Executive for Gloucestershire and Worcestershire said ‘In total Karen kindly provided us with 40 sets of knitted baby clothes, these were originally planned to go to one of our retail shops. However, after seeing how amazingly they were packaged and knitted we decided to take them to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley. Karen’s donation made a great addition to the Hospital’s knitting sales stand that raises funds for MAAC.
The total value of the baby clothes was £200 and this was added as a Gift in Kind to GJS Dillon’s total which has now reached £800. We’d like to thank Karen very much for her brilliant efforts’
Karen said ‘It was wonderful to hear the amount that was raised for MAAC. This has given me the push I needed so I’ll be getting my needles out again soon!’
