GJS Dillon Sells Droitwich Nursery To Qest In Undisclosed Deal
April 2014DROITWICH day nursery has been acquired by a Worcestershire childcare business in an undisclosed deal advised in the county.
The nursery, at 28 Old Coach Road, ceased operating when former owner, Shenstone House Day Nurseries, went into voluntary liquidation. Now, the building has been bought by QEST (Quality Extended Schools Team), a childcare provider operating throughout Worcestershire.
QEST plans to re-register it and re-open it as a day nursery. The new nursery will be known as the First Quest Day Nursery.
Quality Extended Schools Team currently cares for children aged between three and 12 in a school environment, providing day nursery care, breakfast clubs and after-school clubs as well as holiday clubs. The new property will be an addition to the existing business, allowing it to expand early years provision, and to accommodate babies from three months until they start school. The outside space will provide play facilities and a forest school.
The detached two-storey building is fully fitted and equipped as an operational day nursery and includes six activity/sleeping rooms, three conservatory rooms, kitchen, offices and specialist children and adult bathroom facilities. The building also includes a self-contained two-bedroom flat.
In the grounds there is a separate two-bedroom cottage and a large lawned play area as well as car parking facilities and an in/out drive.
Lynne Davies, of property consultancy GJS Dillon, advised on the deal.
She said: “While this impressive building and its extensive grounds would be suitable for a wide range of uses, we are delighted that it has been acquired by another childcare provider, and so will be in a position to provide a valuable service to the community.”
