GJS Dillon helps Rowan Steels, Kidderminster steel supplier forge ahead

September 2024

Rowan Steels, which supplies steel to the manufacturing industry right across the UK is relocating to a larger industrial unit in Kidderminster with the support of Worcestershire-based commercial property consultancy and Chartered Surveyors GJS Dillon.

Rowan Steels, which was first established in 1978, has a long-established reputation for supplying high-quality material to the car industry and manufacturers of white goods. Following the addition of a number of blue-chip organisations to its client base, the company is now expanding and has been seeking larger premises for some time.

Operations Director Ron Lees says ‘We have always been in Kidderminster and wanted to remain in the area because of the skills of our local workforce. Our new unit is double the size of our previous one and we’ve gone from around 6K sq ft to 11,198 sq ft. This extra space will enable us to continue with our plans for growth and we aim to expand our team from 11 to 15 members within the next year or so.’

Unit 4 Edwin Avenue, which is on the Hoo Farm Industrial Estate, offers a large workshop/warehouse unit, generous yard space and good quality offices and meeting rooms. There is also plenty of parking and a loading/unloading area. Acting on behalf of the Landlord, Andrew Lewis, GJS Dillon’s Commercial Agency Director, negotiated a new 10-year lease on the property. Hoo Farm is a popular trading estate situated on the A449 Worcester Road, only a mile from Kidderminster town centre.

‘The whole process has been excellent’ continues Mr Lees ‘normally you expect a few problems along the way when you relocate but everything has gone very smoothly. This is an ideal location for us’

‘The Wyre Forest industrial market has improved the most out of all districts in the past five years’ says Mr Lewis ‘Good quality smaller unit schemes are being provided and there are further opportunities to modernise obsolete stock and capitalise on demand. We were delighted to help Rowan Steels find their new unit and wish them good luck in their new premises’
