GJS Dillon excited to announce two key appointments in Wyre Forest.

January 2025

GJS Dillon are delighted to have been appointed letting agents for two key appointments in the Wyre Forest.

The first building is the historic Piano Building. This was originally built as a wool warehouse by Brintons in 1867 and was previously home to Birmingham Metropolitan College’s Kidderminster Academy.

It has been transformed through the support of the Government £17.9 million Levelling Up Fund grant for Kidderminster, a key part of the regeneration of Kidderminster town centre. The building is now a modern mixed-use facility including high quality open pan office space, entertainment space and restaurants on the ground floor.

The building has a very distinctive curve as a result of a land dispute, which then made the building look like the shape of a grand piano, hence its name. This area will become a hive of activity day and nighttime and will be a great support for local businesses in the area.

The second building is The Old Court, formerly the Magistrates Court, Worcester Street, also in Kidderminster. This magnificent building is undergoing a £10.5 million renovation and redevelopment of the surrounding area. Comprising 2500 square metres of high-quality office space and flexible studio and arts events venue. The Grade II listed building dates back to 1879 when its original purposes were a carpet weaving factory, and then the town’s indoor market.

Both sites will offer a focal point as a working hub, alongside entertainment and eateries. The redevelopment projects are critical to support Kidderminster’s economic and cultural offer, driving growth and sustainability.

Andrew Lewis, Director, GJS Dillon comments, “We are very excited to have not one but two two key appointments in the Wyre Forest. Both are fantastic redevelopments and we are thrilled to add them to our portfolio. This is an exciting year for Kidderminster and great that we can play a part in contributing to commercial growth in the area.
